| St Louis Symphony Orchestra |
| Visiting Powell Hall and seeing the orchestra can transport you to another era. The kids love to put on nice clothes and sit in the red velvet seats. The educational concerts are always interesting and fun. There is also an optional backstage tour. They offer student ticket pricing for other performances. During the educational concerts the conductor always talks to the kids about the music. Combine this wonderful experience with a visit to the Science Center which offers a class (usually the same day) called the Science of Sound. ($7/person) Call the Science Center separately. |

 | | G. A., Co-op Member | | We had season tickets this year to the Family Concert Series. These concerts are the same quality as an evening concert, but are shorter in length and created with children in mind. All took place this year on Sunday afternoons and were just under one hour in length. Instructions about the music, composers, and instruments made for an enjoyable afternoon as well as an educational environment. Past concerts have included: "Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra", "Peter and the Wolf", Copeland's "Rodeo", excerpts from Beethoven's 5th, and "Firebird Suite". |
