Some traveling exhibits are huge draws. Otherwise, historic building in downtown offers typical museum fare.

Provided a good general overview of South Carolina's rich history. The hands-on science floor was great and the kids enjoyed it a lot. We were there specifically for a special robotic dinosaur exhibit. The robotic dinosaurs themselves were awesome and the explanations were suprisingly generic and not too evolution oriented. However, that was not the case for the remainder of the museum. As expected, the theories of evolution ruled the day in the remainder of the museum. Of course, we expect some of this, so it was not a surprise, but is the primary reason for our 3-star rating.
