| Slate Run Living Historical Farm |
| The farm depicts rural agricultural life in the 1880s, with period and model buildings, costumed volunteers, machinery, livestock and crops. Guests can try their hand at activities on the farm, such as picking vegetables or tending to the animals. Even without its hands-on appeal, Slate Run stands out for its striking views and perfect spots for strolling and picnicking |

 | | Rhonda, Ohio, Co-op Member | | Historical farms are wonderful for up-close and personal animals, and Slate Run is no exception. They have a fine selection of horses, poultry and other livestock that are accessible and active. We also enjoy seeing what is happening in the 1800s kitchen, the woodshop or the blacksmith shop; coming on a scheduled program day means lots of activity and usually something to eat! The trails in the adjacent metropark offer a variety of views and great exercise as well. |

 | | Danielle Dennis, Co-op Member | | A wonderful place to learn about farming in the 1800's. Tour the house, the barn, the machine sheds and other buildings onsite. They have a variety of animals, especially in the spring with the babies. They often have special events like making maple syrup or shearing sheep. The interpretors are very informative and love answering questions. There is ample parking and picnic tables if you want to enjoy a lunch first. Also the metro park has a variety of trails and play areas as well as picnic areas. |
