 | | K. Hoover, Co-op Member | My kids love the Noah's Ark exhibit at the Skirball Cultural Center. This exhibit is inspired by the biblical story of the flood. The one thing that makes this museum exhibit so great is that kids can crawl, climb, interact, and play with the 'animals'. Not many museums allow that. The animals are all one-of-a-kind peices of art crafted from recycled materials (except the stuffed ones). The ark assistants will often have circle time when a story is read, musical instruments are played by all, etc. At the end of the rainbow is a craft area. And best of all, all day on Thursdays are free with timed entries starting at noon. The free days do go quickly, but you can sign up at their website and book your spots on-line. Your tickets will be available at the will-call on the day/time of your visit. It is a wonderful exhibit for young and old. :)
Inspired by the ancient flood story, which has parallels in diverse cultures around the world, this one-of-a-kind exhibition invites visitors of all generations to have fun, connect with one another, learn the value of community, and help build a better world. See the Noah's Ark page on this website to plan your visit, reserve tickets, and view images of some of the exhibition's most whimsically crafted animals. |
