 | | Kathy S, Co-op Member | | This is a fun place to spend 1-2 hours. It is pretty small and you better like monkeys if you go!! They have LOTS of monkeys! This is the perfect zoo for the younger set because they don't have to do a lot of walking. They have a nice playground for the kids to play and lots of shade! |

 | | Mary Beth, Co-op Member | | We came to the Santa Ana Zoo on a lark. We needed some non-beach, non-family time on a recent trip to visit family in Southern Ca. The Zoo was exactly what we needed. First of all, my husband was brilliant for asking if they had any reciprocity agreements...which one should always ask. They did and we got in free off of our local museum membership. We were able to have a quiet exploration day with a number of tropical animals and birds that are not always represented in the large zoos. The zoo is very quiet so the animals and birds are easier to see (they are not escaping the noisy crowds as they do elsewhere). The food was reasonably priced. Our older child (12 years old) could see the rarer animals and ask questions of the knowledgable staff. Our younger child (7) could visit the exotic birds and then even visit a farm area. Just a perfect day. |

There is a train which my kids love to ride and the playground area is a fun break for the kids after having lunch. There is a lot of shade, and not too much walking. This is great for younger children or if you are limited on time. My son loves the bald eagle and is inspired to do research on the animals we have seen when we return home. |
