Description:

Northern California's largest zoological park and conservation center. This urban oasis, nestled against the Pacific Ocean, provides a comfortable climate all year round. You’ll enjoy seeing the 250 different animal species in naturalistic surroundings, and our many Zoo activities and events.

The historic San Francisco Zoo is being transformed into the New Zoo, a conservation zoo that is dedicated to the preservation of wild places and wildlife. The new conservation zoo seeks to foster respect and appreciation of wildlife and to provide enlightening and awe-inspiring experiences for all ages.

Hours:

The San Francisco Zoo is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily, 365 days a year, including Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

The six-acre Children's Zoo is open daily from 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Within the Children’s Zoo, the Animal Resource Center and Family Farm are open daily from 10:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Youths 12-17 $8.00
Seniors 65 and over $8.00
Children 3-11 $5.00
Children 2 and under Free

The first Wednesday of every month, admission to the Zoo is free! The Zoo reserves the right to limit attendance on Free Days in the best interest of the animals.

For Zoo. A definite must. Great place to go. Spacious grounds with lots of animals. I think there's a free day each month and if you are SF residents, you get a discount. Don't forget to pack a lunch and go to the beach, a few blocks away.
