Description:

The Education Department at SFMOMA organizes a wide range of programs for audiences of all ages. Offering special exhibition-related events, such as artist talks and lectures; tours for students, adult groups, and walk-in visitors; and family days and monthly hands-on family studios. Visit the calendar to learn about upcoming events.

Unique among U.S. art museums, SFMOMA's Koret Visitor Education Center offers new pathways to enjoying art. This dynamic drop-in facility provides a broad range of individualized and interactive services, as well as a full calendar of public programs and activities. Open to all visitors, the Koret Center is located on the Museum's second floor, only steps from the galleries. For more information, including public hours, visit the Koret Center page.

SFMOMA is closed on the following public holidays: New Year's Day, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. SFMOMA closes at 4:45 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. The Museum is open the Wednesday between Christmas and New Year's Day.

Love modern art? This is the place to go. That said, be careful with the young ones....Some art pieces may not be appropriate for the little ones. Close to the train station, ZEUM (SF Children's Museum)- lots of eatery places around. Make a day of it (go to ZEUM and SFMOMA). You'd be pleasantly surprised.
