| Saint Mary's Fire Department |
The fire department will give a tour of the department and educate you and your child about what to do in case of a fire. They put on their gear so your child can see what a firefighter would look like if they were coming to get them out of a fire.
The fire department is always trying to educate young people in fire prevention and in what to do if there is a fire. A firefighter dressed up in uniform so the children could see she wasn't really scary, even though her clothes were. They describe themselves as "friendly firefighters" to the kids to get them comfortable in case they ever need to rescue them. |
