Facility:Sacramento Historic City Cemetery
Description:Established in 1849 during the Gold Rush, this 28-acre Victorian-era cemetery is the final resting place for over 25,000. Pioneers buried in the cemetery include John A. Sutter, Jr., founder of the city; Edwin Bryant and Margaret Crocker, Sacramento's "Patrons of the Arts;" and Mark Hopkins, one of railroading's legendary "Big Four." Call about free historical and garden tours, scheduled March-September.
