 | | Danielle Dennis, Co-op Member | | This is a great place for learning about canal history. The workers/volunteers are full of information and are happy to tell you all about what their occupation was. There is a blacksmith shop, weavers shop, schoolhouse, doctor's office and house, to name a few. They are all cared for very well. The highlight of the trip is riding on the canal boat. If you go you must do that. You can easily walk from the village, it is maybe a mile or so round trip. We have walked it both times and found it very enjoyable. Along the walk there is a part of a lock left that the children can run in and climb in, etc. There is a nice bridge that goes over a river. Most of it is shaded. There are many places to purchase food or you can take your own lunch and eat at picnic tables at the visitor center. |
