Facility:Richmond County Museum and Visitor Center
Description:Located in the 1872 jail on the courthouse green, the museum tells the story of Richmond County from prehistoric times. Exhibits highlight the Rappahannock Tribe, early English settlement, Francis Lightfoot Lee, signer of the Declaration of Independence and William Atkinson Jones, author of Philippine Independence. An old country store has been recreated,including a rural post office of the early 20th Century.Open Wednesday through Saturday.
