| Red Fleet State Park Dinosaur Trackway |
| Red Fleet resevoir has a 20 million year old dinosaur trackway along the shoreline. The hike is about 1 1/2 miles down from the road and along a great trail for all ages. The trail meanders down through the sandstone formations to the shoreline. On the shoreline are interprative signs showing where the dinosaur tracks are and what kind that they are. There are a minimum of 50 tracks in this area. The hike down is marked with painted tracks that lead you between the great sandstone formations and there is a brochure that explains the wildlife and plant life found along the way. It is a great field trip for studies on erosion, fossils, desert plant life and wildlife and stone formation. |
