Kingston has witnessed more events of political, commercial and industrial history than any city of its size in Canada. Practically every square foot of the city has a story to tell if a listener can be found. Ontario Street, one of the oldest, is even more richly endowed. Not only is it the site of much of the past, but it is still home to the original steam powered city waterworks building housing two of the three original steam pumping engines.
