 | | Gayle S., Co-op Member | | This is one of the nicest zoos we have been to. We love the way it is divided into continents of animal life. There is a great aquarium as well...and the kids love the slides and other activities that are part of the zoo. We spent a half a day here and loved it. |

 | | Kristi H., Co-op Member | We love the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium. We go there at least once each year. There is often a baby tiger or baby elephant, lots of great information on each animal, and the zoo is continually remodeling and improving. The children's zoo is outstanding. My kids love to go inside the building of the children's zoo to slide down the tree slide and crawl around the meerkat tunnels.
In the past, we have also taken education classes for homeschoolers offered each fall. If you are a zoo member, for $32, your child can go one day each month for a 2.5 hour class that includes a tour of something usually behind the scenes of the zoo. During one of my son's classes, he got to go behind the scenes of the penguin exhibit and pet a penguin. Well worth the money! |

 | | B. Hargett, Co-op Member | | We live in eastern Pennsylvania, so cannot visit this zoo as often as we like. The Philadelphia Zoo, and the zoo in Syracuse, NY are the spots we frequent the most. But, all my children will say that the Pittsburg Zoo is the best. They liked the contented look the animals have, and the natural settings, and the cleanliness. They took scores of pictures of the big yellow snakes. They were fascinating, and beautiful (if you can think that snakes are beautiful). They also told me the animals were more lively there than at other zoos. The lions roared, which is always an experience to remember, and the tigers moved. And they loved the playground there. All my children gave it the best ratings, even the older children liked it. |
