"Think quick: what kind of information would you expect to find on a tombstone? In this exercise, students learn about the kinds of information that can be obtained from cemetery records and tombstones. Using tombstone information, they craft a historical narrative about the deceased person's life. Students also begin keeping a research log, which details all the steps they've taken in their genealogy work."
