| Old Town San Diego State Historic Park |
| Old Town San Diego State Historic Park recreates life in the Mexican and early American periods of 1821 to 1872. Five original adobes are part of the complex, which includes shops, restaurants and a museum. La Casa de Estudillo is a mansion built around a garden courtyard. La Casa de Machado y Stewart is full of artifacts that reflect ordinary life of the period. Other historic buildings include a schoolhouse, a blacksmith shop, San Diego's first newspaper office, and a stable with a carriage collection. |

 | | Tiffani, Co-op Member | | Very nice visit. Make sure you visit the Coyote Restaurant to have some hand made tortillas. Great and come in many flavors!! the shopping is great, so you can go home with some nice historical remakes. |

 | | Mary Beth, Co-op Member | | We used to visit Old Town when we lived in San Diego 10 years ago and revisited it with our two kids recently. There are many new sites with interpreters and great displays. In particular we spent time in the stable area in which the history of stagecoaches and wagons was documented. There is also an amazing blacksmith shop which has fascinating docents doing their apprenticeships. My son also was taught how to "throw an axe". Fun learning for all ages. |
