| Ohio Village |
| Ohio Village is designed to recreate the appearance of a typical county-seat town in Ohio during the mid 19th century, about the time of the Civil War. Adjacent to the Ohio Historical Center, the Columbus site remains open, as it has for nearly 20 years, to school groups and for private events. |

 | | Erica E., Co-op Member | Open ONLY for special events - but TOTALLY worth the wait. Kids and adults alike will have a blast at this little Ohio Village that mimics what life was like in the 1800's. Depending on what event you go for you can see a live base ball game played like it was meant to be played - good sportsmanship & fun for ALL (even spectators!)....lots of fun things to see, do & buy! Just come prepared for the weather since the Village is outside you will be exposed to the elements while moving from building to building. But the tour guides (dressed in costumes from the 1800's) are so helpful and full of fun information & stories. Visit a general store and buy yourself some old fashioned candy, go see what a school room was like in the 1800's, visit the doctor, the hotel, the church...endless possibilities of fun for everyone!!!
It really is too bad that they aren't opened all the time - it is THAT good of an experience! |
