 | | Jill, Co-op Member | We went to the Newark Museum last summer to see their Native American exhibit and to see a concert in their summer concert series for children.
If you go for a concert, get there a few minutes early as the auditorium was filled the day we attended. It was for Mongolian music which we didn't find appealing. We sat near the back and were able to make a quick exit.
The Native American exhibit was excellent as our introduction into the culture and art. It's small by some standards but it was perfect for the attention span of my 4th and 2nd graders.
We did see some other interesting art throughout the rest of the museum and did enjoy the Mongolian visiting exhibit.
We decide to skip packing a lunch because the website said they had a cafe but I would advise anyone going to plan to exit the museum for lunch or bring your own. The selection was extremely limited (one type of soup, baked goods, water or coffee). |
