This museum is always a good way to spend a day. Even if you have been there before, you usually can find something you missed. They have a kids space for hands on exploring and offer different programs.

This is one of my favorite musuems because it has so many different types of exhibits. There are cultural exhibits, science and art exhibits, historical exhibits. The museum also has a good-sized Discovery Room where children can play, draw or read. We enjoy "riding" in the old New York City train car. It's an enjoyable way to spend a day. It's a budget-friendly museum since admission is by donation.
