 | | Military Mom, Co-op Member | A wonderful field trip! Best of all, it is FREE!
During a visit to the museum, you will be take a walking tour exploring aviation history from the Wright Brothers to current day, and even some NASA space exhibits.
They have done well to explore differnt modes of learning for the museum guests. There are videos, music, a cargo plane that guest can walk into, as well as many hands on activities.
With over 5 hangers of planes and artifacts, this could easily be a multi-day visit.
In September of each year, an airshow is also held on the grounds attracting people and planes from all around the world. |

They are always adding more. Be sure walk the grounds to see the monuments and more planes and rockets. If you get there early sign up to go to the Presidental Hanger to see the Airforce One. This fills up quickly.Your history buffs will enjoy this museum. |

 | | Charlotte D., Co-op Member | This is a fun place to visit for an afternoon. There are three HUGE airplane hangars with hundreds of planes and other associated aircraft spanning most of aviation history. Several of the planes are open so that you can go inside or sit in the cockpit. There are friendly docents to give advice and information as well. It is an interesting way to look at history - through airplanes!
I would suggest comfortable walking shoes and a stroller for young children. In order to see everything, you will walk a long way!
There is also an IMAX theater on the property. The cost is reasonable and the shows are in line with the mission of the museum. They feature several shows on flight and all are interesting and immersive. |

 | | Danielle Dennis, Co-op Member | | I have a son who loves everything airplane. The airforce museum is top on his list of fun things to do. The museum is well laid out and very clean. The bathrooms are plentiful and the workers are very informative. They love to talk to you about the different planes and experiences they had since many of them are volunteers who have been in the armed forces. The cafeteria has good food although it can get a bit pricey for a larger family. Overall this place is a amazing place for a day out. |

The planes look like they are ready to be put back in the air. They have three hangers of planes, from the early ones to what they are still using today. My boys can not wait to go back, to see what new ones have been added.
And the best part it was FREE. Can't get any better then that!! |
