| Mystery Spot |
| The Mystery Spot is a gravitational anomaly located in the redwood forests just outside of Santa Cruz, California. It is a circular area of effect around 150 feet or 46 meters in diameter. Within the Mystery Spot you will be stunned as your perceptions of the laws of physics and gravity are questioned. But don't take our word for it, come and decide for yourself! |

 | | Amy, Co-op Member | | I have visited The Mystery Spot twice now with two different groups of children and they all loved it! Regardless of how you want to explain the gravitational discrepancies, it will still amaze you! On my second trip I noticed they had added a little gift/snack shop with bathroom facilities, so that was nice. The tour guides were also informative and had a nice sense of humor which my tweens appreciated! They even encourage you to bring your own items to test (levels, balls...) We watched our own basketball roll uphill on a plank! The tour takes you up a winding path and then into a building which will reverse all your gravitational know-how! There are stops for interactive experiences along the path and in the sturcture to test your theories of gravity. The tour lasts about 1/2 hour, but it is mostly out in the forest, so take a jacket for cooler weather. |
