| Museum of the City of San Francisco |
Despite the Museum of the City of San Francisco's location in an indoor shopping mall (formerly a Del Monte peach canning plant), its displays remind us of an eccentric collector's dusty attic. Maps, photos and odd bits of memorabilia are grouped together in a number of tableaux to tell the story of San Francisco's history, with a special emphasis on the 1906 earthquake. Those with a strong interest in the city's past or in Victoriana will find a visit to this small museum particularly compelling.
