We live a few hours from Montgomery, and we've had family memberships to the Montgomery Zoo twice because we enjoyed it so much. The zoo is laid out by continents, so that kids can see most of the animals in realistic settings. So you see the lions, zebras and giraffes together in a small savannah. Every time we have visited there is an alligator napping at the front of the park. The first time we saw him, we weren't sure if he was real. He most definitely is! Another favorite exhibit of ours is the panther. On one visit we got to see her cubs. We're never disappointed when we visit this zoo!

This is the best zoo. We purchase a membership every year. It is well laid out with nice walking paths that are mostly shaded. The playground has been updated and is really nice. Great picnic areas throughout the zoo. Each time we go we always enjoy seeing the animals. My kids also really enjoy the train ride.
New this year are pony rides, giraffe feeding and paddle boat rides. All of these things cost extra.
