This is an absolutely amazing place to go. When we lived nearby we bought a family membership and would go as often as possible. We lived there when they had a baby great white shark in captivity and it was so beautiful to watch it swimming in the huge aquarium. Another favorite of ours was the jellyfish. It was so peaceful to watch them silently gliding through the dark aquariums. The kids hands on sections were top notch. The kids got to touch starfish and other creatures in the tide pools. I would highly recommend this field trip.

A must for every family! This museum has beautiful animals and hands on activities! There's something for everyone! Too many good things to go on about here! The surrounding Monteray area is beautiful and full of adventure as well!

If you live anywhere in California, make this a prioity. We hadn't been in over 3 years, and finally had a chance to go this weekend. They have added a fabulous exhibit on the Secret Life of Seahorses, and another on Hot Pink Flamingos. What I appreciated the most, is that after they amaze the kids with the brilliant sea life, they explain what danger our oceans and seas are in. It really opened their eyes. LOVED it!

An amazing place to explore the different types of fish and sea creatures! They offer a homeschool day every fall that is great! If you are part of a co-op or charter school you can organize a school trip where you get to go in the aquarium for free and the students get to go behind the scenes and do hands on learning! Great opportunity!
