Facility:Mariners' Museum, The
Description:Welcome to over 500 years of seafaring adventure at The Mariners’ Museum. In over 60,000 square feet of exhibition space you can escape to the eras of early exploration and mahogany Chris-Crafts, delight in the displays of intricate miniature ship models and fascinating figureheads, see the conservation of artifacts from the famous Civil War ironclad USS Monitor, and experience over 75 small craft from 36 countries in the International Small Craft Center. Spend an entire day at the Museum and enjoy the beautiful 550-acre park with a 5-mile walking trail, the Museum Shop, and the Museum Café. The Museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for children (ages 6 to 18), and free for children under the age of 5.
