Longfellow's Wayside Inn is proud to be the oldest operating Inn in the country, offering comfort and hospitality to travelers along the Boston Post Road since 1716.
You are encouraged to take advantage of the unstructured layout of the village-like campus: to walk the fields and trails, explore the Longfellow Garden, tour the Inn, Mill, and Schoolhouse, or sit for a picnic lunch next to Hop Brook. A 100-yard preserved section of the original Boston Post Road runs right in front of the Inn, only steps from the 18th-century doorway. Wander westward, towards the Schoolhouse and Grist Mill, over the old stone bridge, and take a walk down history lane! |
