| Kansas Museum of History |
| This museum collects objects from the earliest times through current day. All of its collections tell the story of Kansas. One exhibit changes every couple of months so there is always something new to see. Outside the building there are hiking trails with informative signs that teach about the natural history of Kansas and pioneer life. The grounds are decorated with gardens of native plants and there are also picnic areas and a playground. Indoors, you'll find the free Discovery Center, an interactive hands on museum area for smaller children. There is also an indoor lunch room with vending machines. Free podcasts are available in the lobby or on the website. Classes are offered in the summer and the free Traveling Trunks are an excellent resource for homeschoolers. You can find more information on the website. |
