| Jefferson National Expansion Memorial |
| This national park in downtown St. Louis includes not only the well-known Gateway Arch, but also many other overlooked historical gems. The Old Courthouse, where the Dred Scott case was heard, was part of the Underground Railroad, and the Museum of Westward Expansion is an enlightening and free tour of this important phase in our country's history. |

 | | Cathy U., Co-op Member | A must see if you visit St. Louis. The museum under the arch is free and very informative about the westward movement. The art carving about the history of the arch is amazing. It is so detailed.
If you are uncomfortable in small spaces, you may not enjoy the ride to the top of the arch. It is worth the ride though. Once in the arch, we were surprised at how small the windows actually were. From the ground, they appear as if they would be much larger. The view is still fantastic. My kids want to go back just to do the arch again! |
