Description:The J. N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge is located on the subtropical barrier island of Sanibel in the Gulf of Mexico. The refuge is part of the largest undeveloped mangrove ecosystem in the United States. It is world famous for its spectacular migratory bird populations. Visit the Education center!

Admission:Free for a pre-arranged group; $5.00 for a car load to drive the wildlife drive or purchase a Duck stamp for $12.00 and visit any of the US Refuges for free for the year! The Education center is free

The museum isn't that great but the trails are wonderful! This is a great place to go if you are working on your life list for the Florida Fish and Wildlife for birds. You can also rent kayaks and canoes for tours.
