Facility:Indian Grinding Rock State Historic Park
Description:This park is located in the Sierra Nevada foothills about eight miles from the town of Jackson. The Indian Grinding Rock is a huge piece of limestone with over 1,100 holes in which the Indians would grind food. They have an Indian museum on site that offers a look at many regional Indian artifacts. A ceremonial roundhouse sits in the middle of the park in which you can get a glimpse of the construction. The park holds several events throughout the year. Tours are welcome.
