 | | Jill H., Co-op Member | The Huntington Gardens is a wonderful place to spend the day with your family. The gardens area is quite large, and you can easily spend half the day here looking and enjoying it all. The gardens are all done beautifully, and my kids enjoy them all. Their favorites are the Japanese Garden, the Shakespeare Garden, and the Children's Garden. I enjoy them all.
We always go on the free day, but you need to register online for this the month before. Make sure you register immediately as the tickets go quick! |

 | | Carri Ann, Co-op Member | | By far one of our favorite places to go when we were in California! The artwork and books was amazing, and we were surprised at how large The Blue Boy painting really was (having only ever seen it in art books) and how detailed the Gutenberg Bible was (again, having only seen photos of it). My son's favorite part, though, were the beautiful gardens. We will definitely be back! |

 | | Beth MG, Co-op Member | | We went today for the members' preview of the new "Visions of Empire" exhibit about the early days of the American transcontinental railroad. My children, ages 8 and 9, enjoy both the special exhibits (such as today's) and the permanent art exhibits (both "Blue Boy" and "Pinkie" are here). However, their favorite regular stops are the Children's Garden with its many water features, and the Conservatory, a huge greenhouse featuring habitats such as a rainforest and a cloud forest, as well as many interactive exhibits about plant life. When we were studying plants as part of our life science curriculum last year, we made several trips to the Conservatory to observe such things as carnivorous plants and methods of seed transportation and to look at a variety of things under microscopes. During our next visit we'll return to the Japanese Garden, which has just re-opened after a year of renovation. The Chinese Garden and the Desert Garden are also wonderful. The Huntington has so much to enjoy; it's truly a treasure. |
