My favorite part of the visit to Hershey Park is Chocolate World. Learn how chocolate was made and marketed. Chocolate World is free, with free parking at it's special entrance only. They do charge for two optional shows. They have an assembly line where you can bag your own candy, take a free ride to see how candy is made, and stroll through the gift shops. After the visit to Chocolate World, I recommend taking a walk through the free zoo as well!

Hershey's Chocolate World is a fun place to visit. We live close by and take our children for the chocolate making tour ride a couple times a year. If you've never been on it before, I would definitely go. For our teens though, once a year is quite enough. Our younger children enjoy it over and over.

The path to the ride has a 100 foot mural showing a jungle scene that is very detailed and very cool. The ride itself takes you through a simulated factory with some large scale machines and some video of machines working. The ride ends with a kitschy song.

Chocolate World also has a "rain forest" area with a penny-pitch that we make a point to visit.

As far as food goes, I've only tried the over-sized cookies and have been very happy with them. (If they have the day-olds, buy a bag or two.)

Correction to Vicky's review: ZooAmerica is not free. Admission is included with Hershey Park Admission or can be purchased separately.

Wow, has this place changed over the years! They have updated and the place looks great! We did not do the bigger experience, it was a longer wait and there was a big crowd on the weekend so we just rode the tour and it was really fun to do in conjunction with the park. Can't beat free and with chocolate to boot! This is definitely something you do in connection with the museum and park, unless you live close don't drive just for the little tour.

I took my children here after we had done some of the Pennsylvania required testing for third, fifth, and eighth graders a few years ago. I had been there several times before, but some of my younger children had not been there, or could not remember it. It was quite an experience for them. The set-up, the long ramps to and from the ride, the ride itself, the ongoing narration, and mechanized moving creatures and machine parts have the feel of something from an expensive theme park, like Disney Land. But, it is free. Every time I go there, I marvel that it is open to the public as a free experience. Of course, after seeing all that chocolate being melted, formed into popular candy, getting wrapped, and going down the assembly line, you are ready to eat some when you get done. And they accommodate you with all kinds of opportunities to spend money on their products. The smells of chocolate and fresh baked cookies are wafting through the air. You have to walk through the food area to leave the building. If you can resist temptation, you have a great, instructional field trip, with top notch ratings, for just the cost of the gas. An experience to remember!

We took our 3 and 5 yr old children on the free ride. While they really enjoyed it and there was alot of good information, it felt a bit like one huge Hershey commercial. Right down to pumping in the chocolate smell into the air just before they let you off into the store. There was also a part where the children could be "factory workers" and fill a box full of chocolates, which was enjoyable but they do try to sell you the box after finishing. Over all a good trip for free, but note the parking is $10 if you stay longer than 3 hours.

This is a great place to go for a nice day off. It is free. We have been there many times at least once a year. It reminds me of when I was through the real factory when I was young. They tell the whole story of how chocolate is made from the growning of the cocoa bean to the bar you buy. They give you a free piece of chocolate after the ride. It does let you out in the store where you can buy everything chocolate from cookies to ice cream to candy. We love the experience.
You do not have to do all the extras that cost money. We dont. We just go for the ride and the free candy.
