 | | Tricia Bright, Co-op Member | Begin the tour with a video presentation hosted by the Herr's Mascot, Chipper the chipmunk. Chipper tells visitors the history of Herr's Foods and gives a short Biography of the founder, Jim Herr.
Next tour the actual factory. Watch the process of creating some of your favorite snack foods, like potato chips, pretzels, popcorn, and cheese curls.
You will even get to try some of these treats as you walk though the plant, while they are still hot!. If you are really lucky you may even get to sample one of Herr's soon to be released flavors, if you are visiting at a time when they are creating a trial batch...We DID!
This trip can be enjoyed by all. Our first trip was with a one year old in a stroller and a 3 1/2 year old. Even they enjoyed it. The plant was stroller accessible making it enjoyable for all.
Finally you will end your tour with a snack. Don't forget to visit the gift shop where you can purchase many great souvenirs and snacks. You can even purchase your own DVD of the Chipper's video so your family can always remember this amazing tour. |
