Facility:Hands-on House, Children's Museum of Lancaster
Description:A place to discover. A place to experience. A place to have fun. A place to learn. Hands-on House, Children's Museum of Lancaster is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping kids learn and making sure they have lots of fun in the process. The museum is designed for children ages 2-10 years. At Hands-on House, adults and children play and learn together. Our philosophy of childhood learning is simple: it lasts longer if it’s more fun, and it's more fun if it includes doing. Our exhibits, classes and programs are short on lectures, and long on interactive, participatory activities.

Great experience for 5 of our children ranging in age from 2 - 13. Lots of activities to keep them busy and while they were "playing" it was a great learning experience for them. We knew we'd be going back so we purchased a membership

A nicely done children's museum with lots of different activities in different fields like nature study, physics, fine arts, but very indepth with the argicultual industry. We liked the mini-grocery store and post office as well as the back-yard entry complete with animal noises and tree house. They have special programs that are listed on their website. There's a nice exploring garden outside where one might have a picnic. Homeschool Days at The Landis Valley Museum next store was wonderful as well.
