 | | Kendra H, Co-op Member | This was a good farm experience. We went as a group, and there are many farm animals that the kids get hands on experience with. They also get to milk a cow here. There is a big picnick area so bring your own lunch, though there is a small concession stand. The playground is also very big and nice for the kids to get some energy out. We also took a hay ride with the group and got to see some more cows up close. I do have to say one thing that I did not like was that they allow and encourage the kids to chase and catch up the chickens and ducks. I can not see how this is good for the animals.
I think my daughters highlight was milking the cow and riding a pony. |

 | | Linda, Co-op Member | | This is a nice field trip to take during a unit on Farms. It is about a 3-4 hour field trip with a petting area, pony ride, milking a cow, a hayride, and a guided tour. There are cats and dogs running around so be careful if your child has allergies. In the Fall they have a pumpkin patch and each person picks one to take home. In the Spring there is an Easter egg hunt and a butterfly farm (new as of 2012) - check their website for exact dates. I believe they also do something at Christmastime. Overall, this is a nice morning or afternoon adventure for your little one to enjoy (and probably your older ones, too if they like farms!). |
