 | | Kristina P, Co-op Member | | I grew up about 5 miles from this museum. I spent much of my summers here, exploring the grounds and collections. Their art collection is large, with a large amount of western sculpture. They also have a large collection of Native American art, including beadwork, headdresses, and papoose boards. It is well worth a visit. |

 | | C Swaim, Co-op Member | Gilcrease is very welcoming to homeschoolers! They have a great staff that is wonderful with kids.
Inside, they house a wonderful art collection. No matter what you are studying, you'll find it here. They also offer free art classes for children. Our homeschool group goes once per month and the children visit the museum to learn about the medium they will be using and then create a masterpiece of their own!
Outside, the gardens and trails are beautiful. You can do nature studies or sketch, or simply take a walk and breathe it all in.
This is a definite must-go trip in Tulsa. |
