 | | Gayle S., Co-op Member | | If you go on your own as a family, it isn't the best field trip (unless you have done all your study of the fort beforehand). BUT...if you go as a group tour and get a tour guide, it is very interesting and worthwhile. You learn so much more about the battles and the people involved if youhave someone to explain it to you rather than reading the placards. Plan to spend about an hour wihtout a guide and up to three with a guide. |

 | | TL, Co-op Member | | The tour is very good, and the museum is nice. Going as a group is best, and they offer crafts for the children at a very reasonable rate. A great time to go is Fort Ligonier Days, always the second weekend of October. There are countless craft booths around town and great food. Also during this weekend, they do a reenactment of the battle fought there and have a town parade. They have printable supplementary materials that can be used before and after the trip. On their site, go to Education, then Educators/Field Trips for those. |
