Facility:Fort Frederica National Monument
Description:Centuries old conflict decided on St. Simons Island. Georgia's fate was decided in 1742 when Spanish and British forces clashed on St. Simons Island. Fort Frederica's troops defeated the Spanish, ensuring Georgia's future as a British colony. Today, the archeological remnants of Frederica are protected by the National Park Service.

Some of the activities at Fort Frederica include a 23 minute park film "History Uncovered", self guided explorations through the archeological site and a museum area with artifacts found at Frederica.

Park is free to educational groups who submit a fee waiver and make reservations.
