The tour of the house itself is thoroughly enjoyable. Add to that the history of families who were prominent in Pittsburgh (Kaufmanns, Mellons, Canegies, etc.) and you have a field trip filled with art and history. The waterfalls of the house are simply breathtaking. The tour guides are knowledgeable. If you have a whole day, you can add another of Frank Lloyd Wright's homes to the agenda. Kentuck Knob is just about 20 minutes or so farther. Not as popular as Fallingwater, but worth the see. |
