While inside the Nature Center take a "voyage" to outer space in our Astronomy Hall, Searching for Spaceship Earth, filled with an array of displays to acquaint you with our solar system, planet earth, and beyond. Discover how much you weigh on other planets, make a rubbing of star constellations, see a 100 pound meteorite older than earth, and watch an astronomy video. Children will enjoy the moonscape, hands-on activities and special reading area. See the latest in earth science and astronomical discoveries through ViewSpace, a constantly updating video displaying images of earth, planets, and the universe taken from Hubble and other telescopes and space probes traveling throughout the universe.
Waters of Time highlights include visual and hands-on activities for children including a dino dig box with real fossils to find, a 1-ton petrified log, displays of actual fossils and artifacts, pottery rubbings to make and take home, and special nature goop where you can create forest animal tracks. It provides a fun and educational experience for the entire family.
