| The Educational Memorabilia Center, operated by the College of Education and Human Development at Bowling Green State University, is a collection of items reminiscent of education's past. The collection includes more than 2,500 items such as slates, bells, desks, inkwells, antique equipment and books. Books include the famous McGuffey readers as well as arithmetic, history, geography, hygiene, manual training, domestic science, school management, and pedagogy. The most valuable item in the collection is an authentic one-room schoolhouse, a century-old building that was moved to BGSU from Huron County. The schoolhouse is furnished with many items from the Center's collection to give it much the same appearance that it had when it was in active use. |
