| Detroit Institute of Arts |
| Founded in 1885, the Detroit Institute of Arts has been a beacon of culture for the Detroit area for well over a century. The DIA is a world-class museum with a variety of permanent and traveling exhibits, and is the fifth-largest fine arts museum in the country; offers over 100 galleries with art from ancient to modern times. |

 | | Jan S., Co-op Member | | We go there again and again, but if you haven't been there since they totally rearranged the exhibits, go again! There are interactive displays, and the new arrangements make it much more kid/teen (and adult!) friendly. You really "get" the art this way. It's amazing, but plan to go back-there is too much to take in in a day! |

 | | Kristen S, Co-op Member | | This is a favorite of ours. From time to time not all of the displays are family friendly so you might want to call ahead. |
