The Delaware Art Museum’s permanent collection focuses on four main areas: Howard Pyle & American Illustration; British Pre-Raphaelite Art; John Sloan; American Art, 1757 - Present.
The Museum also regularly presents major traveling exhibitions, offering the community an opportunity to become familiar with a wide variety of artists and artistic movements. The Museum displays smaller exhibitions as well, often assembled from its permanent collection, to complement larger shows or to bring select works to light.

 | | KCM, Co-op Member | | Both inside and out, this a treat for children and adults alike! The museum offers a variety of sessions specifically for homeschoolers. Children may participate in the sessions and learn art history, how to create art inspired by works of art from major artists, and how to be inspired to create original art. They also offer art instruction. If you visit the museum without attending a session you will enjoy the different galleries, the traveling exhibits and the sculpture garden. The museum is also home to a walking labyrinth which is fun for all ages. Additionally, the museum is located close to parks and places to eat (there is a small cafeteria with limited selections). We've found the staff very friendly (particularly to children). Sundays are usually free! |
