| Explore. Experience. Enjoy. Founded in 1929 by Beman and Bertie Dawes, The Arboretum now covers nearly 1,800 acres and includes eight miles of hiking trails and a four-mile Auto Tour. See some of their more than 15,000 living plants. Relax in the Japanese Garden. Hike through the Deep Woods or Dutch Fork Wetlands. Climb the Observation Tower for an amazing view. This is a wonderful place to learn more about plants. They have homeschool activities during the year, such as learning about wetlands, etc. |
