Description:

Restored early 20th century warehouse provides space for the following independent cultural organizations: Art Museum of Western Virginia, Arts Council of the Blue Ridge, Science Museum of Western Virginia and Hopkins Planetarium, History Museum & Historical Society of Western Virginia, and Mill Mountain Theatre. Opera Roanoke and Roanoke Ballet Theater are located at the Jefferson Center, a few blocks away. Each Museum has its own gift shop.

Center In The Square is a GREAT place to go with your children. They offer so many things and all under one roof. There is an art museum, history museum, planitarium, theater and so many other things.

We like to go on the second Friday of each month when we can. The second Friday's are free at several of the floors. The Science Museum is one of our favorites and also on the second Friday of the month your family can also get special rates for things like the planitarium or mega-dome show.
