 | | Sandi Patterson, Co-op Member | | This is a small center but the park is big. If you like fossil hunting make sure you go and register to hunt on the big bank set aside just for this. Pack a lunch and spend a day. The Nature center and pond do offer programs and so guided trail discussions. |

 | | Sherene Bush, Co-op Member | | We took a field trip to this location because we were studying geology and a geologist friend of ours said it was a good place to find fossils. Indeed it was! There is a HUGE rock field where you can just bend down and pick them up. You are not allowed to bring tools (like a pick ax) and you need a permit from the visitor's center but our kids had a blast. In addition, the day we were there they were getting ready to release a bunch of monarch butterflies and they allowed our children to help tag their wings. They learned about how they are tracked and such. That was an added bonus. They also took the kids on a nature hike and taught them all kinds of stuff about that area. |
