Discover the underwater world of Southern California...Public classes, marine laboratory workshops, field trips, and voyages for all ages. Programs for schools and groups including guided and unguided Aquarium tours, Sea Search marine biology workshops, Ocean Outreach, Aquatic Nursery, Exploration Center and Whalewatch Trips. A previsit guide for tour groups visiting the aquarium and coastal areas is available. It's also helpful for classroom and field trip studies.

 | | Mary Beth, Co-op Member | | We have been to alot of large aquariums. This is a small aquarium that is a true learning center. No bells and whistles. My husband came here when he was in elementary school and he says it feels just the same. The exhibits are well-described (better than at a nearby "hot spot") and educationally motivated. The live exhibits are really meaningful...not just "pretty". The touch tank often has an AMAZINGLY knowledgable docent...much better at larger more commercial enterprises. We give this aquarium our top rating and we recommend it to EVERYONE. We just hope that they stay in business long enough for us to make it back at the right time for the running of the grunion! |
