| Brookshire's Wildlife Museum & Country Store |
The Museum houses more than 450 mammals, fowl, reptiles and aquatic species (stuffed of course). There is also an old timey General Store set up that you can walk around in, look and touch. Outside they have a wonderful fenced off park area with a caboose, fire engine and many other pieces of equipment for the kids to enjoy.
Bring a sack lunch and spend the afternoon having fun. They even have a candy shop to buy some goodies. |

 | | Tisha C., Co-op Member | | This was an interesting place to visit. The free admission got our attention, so we checked it out and it was almost strange, but also very neat. The kids got a kick out of all the stuffed animals and we got some very funny pictures with them. The kids especially found the stuffed monkeys funny. The antique general store was very cool and we spent a bit of time in there trying to explain all the items and equipment to my 6 year old daughter. I did my best as these things are well before my time as well. The gift shop was nice and the people there were incredibly friendly. The park outside was fun. The fire truck was a big kick for the kids. If you are in the area and have the time check it out-it's free and it's definitely different. |
