| This 22 acre former farmsite features a veritable village of historical buildings surrounding a spacious green. Buildings include a train depot, one-room school, church, doctor's office, gas station, general store, barn, trapper's cabin, teepees, and farm house, as well as cabins from one of Montana's oldest motels still in business in Hardin. Detailed displays in every building provide interesting history, while opportunity for active exploration abounds. Children will especially love the historical merry go round, and the renovated train car. The visitor center includes a gift shop and changing displays. Bring a picnic lunch or travel one mile into Hardin to dine along Center Avenue. There is no charge to visit this museum though donations are welcome. |
