 | | Jennifer, Co-op Member | | This has got to be my least favourite museum EVER. Shoes??? Maybe somebody is interested, but not me. A private museum run by shoe magnate Sonia Bata, and built roughly in the shape of a shoe, this collection is weird and eclectic and doesn't hold much to fascinate anyone who doesn't love shoes. We had free passes and visited without children to see what it was like. While there are scattered attempts to provide kid-friendly components to exhibits, most kids aren't likely to know who most of the celebrities are who have donated shoes, or care about the development of shoes and boots through the ages. Might be a good add-on to a fashion history course or any student interested in fashion design; otherwise, I'd stay away, especially with young kids. |
